Finn O'Hara | Art Photographer | Size Matters Collaboration

> SIZE MATTERS

Size Matters is a collaboration between painter Steve Driscoll and myself, presented for the first time at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. It marks the first museum exhibition for both of us. We both live and work in Toronto, but we are drawn to the outdoors, to places that feel larger than the city and remind us of our place in it.

This series came out of that tension between urban life and the need for space, scale, and perspective. We built sets, carried paintings through the woods, and staged them in unexpected places, from portage routes and campfires to downtown streets and office towers. Each photograph turns the act of documenting art into an artwork of its own.

There is humour in it, and a bit of chaos. The process reveals how far removed we are from traditional plein air painting while still chasing the same impulse to bring the landscape closer, even when it feels far away.
