Athlete profiles: Basketball
|
As the Olympics open in London today, I’m pleased to present the third athlete profile in my recently completed athlete series. Our model, the explosive and stupefying Justin Darlington, put on a show for us to complete our shot. You see, Justin is a slam dunk machine, and currently referred to as the “Best Slam Dunker in the World”. And I knew nothing about him when he arrived at casting. “So what do you want me to do?”, he asked when I handed him the ball at the community basketball court. “Just do what you do”, I replied, sensing his relaxed confidence. This is the shot I took of him at the casting after he blew the doors off with his first dunk:
My casting notes were: Head above rim. Enough said. Justin was great to work with and we had fun making up all sorts of dunks for him to try out. Check out his highlights here:

Wow that he has and unbelievable verticle. It always amazes me what the human body can do when you mix gentics with training. Too often people just rely on the gentics portion of things.
I run a youth basketball camp and I’m amazed at the number of kids who want to able to dunk. This is some of the best I’ve seen and will share it with them.
Thanks,
